Though the doors may have officially opened fairly recently, it was many decades in the making. Founder and Financial Advisor, Meeta Kaur, decided it was time for MK Financial & Insurance Services to open to the public, and provide the same level of service that she had dedicated to her clients for over 20 years.
Meeta has been a Financial Advisor since 1999. Meeta was born and raised in India, where she was a teacher, before immigrating to Canada in 1992. Things took a dramatic turn for Meeta in 1997, when her husband developed a critical illness. With two small children to attend to and no family nearby, Meeta realized just how important financial planning was. It was soon after this that Meeta decided to take matters into her own hands and commit to helping people put together financial safeguards for their own families and businesses, in the event they end up facing an economic crisis from not being financially prepared. Sadly, she lost her husband 6 years ago to a heart attack. Throughout the difficulty of her loss and the adversity of managing personally and professionally, Meeta was able to build a very successful business in the Insurance and Financial Advisory industry.
Meeta Kaur started out as a Sunlife Associate Advisor in October of 1999, becoming a full-fledged Financial Advisor in May of 2000. Skyrocketing to the top levels of achievement within Sun Life, Meeta was a constant Convention Qualifier and even won the Order of Merit Blazer – which is a very big honor in Sun Life’s Career Sales Force.
Meeta attributes her success to her teaching experience, which helped her to be a good listener while reaching out to people with the need to understand complex insurance topics in a simplified way. During her 20 years in the Financial Services Industry, Meeta has worked with clients from all walks of life.
